The fight to secure America’s elections just got serious. 21 Republican Secretaries of State have sent a letter to newly appointed DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, demanding immediate action to prevent non-citizens from registering and voting in U.S. elections.
Led by Alabama Secretary of State Wes Allen, the letter calls for urgent reforms to the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) program, a federal system that is supposed to verify citizenship status but is riddled with bureaucratic inefficiencies that hinder election integrity. For years, left-wing activists and Democratic politicians have fought to keep voter rolls bloated, outdated, and vulnerable to fraud—but these Republican leaders are saying enough is enough.
The 21 officials from states including Georgia, Missouri, Tennessee, and Ohio are calling for the removal of federal roadblocks that have made it nearly impossible to effectively detect and remove non-citizens from voter rolls. They are demanding:
- Batch Processing for Voter Checks – Instead of forcing states to verify voters one at a time, states should be able to check large batches of voters at once, improving efficiency.
- Access to Key Identifiers – Election officials currently lack access to Social Security numbers, dates of birth, and driver’s license numbers when verifying citizenship through SAVE. That needs to change.
- Eliminating Cost Barriers – Right now, states must pay per-search fees to check voter rolls against SAVE, creating a paywall for election security. The officials demand that states be allowed to use the system for free to prevent fraud.
- Clear Federal Guidance – Left-wing activist courts have deliberately created legal loopholes and confusion, making it difficult for states to protect their elections. The letter calls on DHS to provide clear and decisive guidance.
- Notifications for Naturalization Applicants – States are kept in the dark when non-citizens register to vote and later apply for naturalization. The letter demands that DHS alert election officials if a person admits to voting while applying for citizenship.
This letter puts the ball in Noem’s court. The Biden administration enabled election fraud by blocking common-sense reforms, but under Trump’s leadership, DHS now has a mandate to restore election integrity.
The reality is simple: American elections should be for American citizens—period. Any resistance to these measures is nothing more than an attempt to protect fraud. The 2024 election proved that voter integrity is the defining issue of our time, and with Trump back in office, Republicans are taking the fight directly to the federal government.
Secretary Kristi Noem must act immediately to implement these necessary changes. If Democrats fight back, it only proves what we already know—they benefit from the loopholes and failures in the system. It’s time to close the gaps, secure the rolls, and protect American democracy.
