Sen. Andy Kim, Democrat of New Jersey, just told you exactly who he works for — and it's not you. While visiting the Delaney Hall detention center in Newark, New Jersey, Kim declared that "the detainees and their families need to be our North Star" and vowed to "fight to secure dignity for them." Not dignity for American citizens footing the bill. Not dignity for legal immigrants who waited in line. Dignity for people in ICE custody with criminal records.
Your North Star. He said that. Out loud. On purpose.
Let's be clear about who Kim is fighting for here. The detainees at Delaney Hall aren't jaywalkers. According to Breitbart, the criminal records of people held at this ICE facility include battery, heroin and cocaine manufacturing, and dangerous drug possession. These are the people a sitting United States senator wants you to orient your moral compass around. These are his guiding light.
Kim wasn't alone on his little field trip, either. Rep. Frank Pallone of New Jersey tagged along and delivered his own gem, saying that "when I visit Delaney Hall, the immigrants detained there always talk about how much they value" their experience. Pallone also whined that "Trump wants to strip any pathway to citizenship and belonging in America." Yeah, Frank — for people who manufacture heroin. Most of us are okay with that.
Rep. Rob Menendez, also a New Jersey Democrat, tried to visit the facility as well, claiming he "went in about eight o'clock" but that by "ten o'clock they were not going to let me in." Imagine being a congressman and getting bounced from an ICE facility like you showed up to the club without a reservation. Maybe they just didn't want another Democrat turning a detention center into a campaign photo op.
This whole circus is playing out while anti-ICE rioters have been setting fires near the facility and detainees inside launched a hunger strike — reportedly on their fourth day as of the visit on May 25, 2026. So you've got arson outside, hunger strikes inside, and Democratic politicians in the middle doing everything they can to make heroes out of criminal illegal aliens.
Gov. Mikie Sherrill, another New Jersey Democrat, has been part of this whole production too. It's practically the entire New Jersey Democratic delegation lining up to show solidarity with people who broke into the country and then broke its laws. Meanwhile, DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin's department reported on May 30, 2026, that enforcement operations are producing real results — results these Democrats apparently want to reverse.
But maybe we shouldn't be surprised. This is the same party whose Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said back in November 2022 that "we have a population that is not reproducing on its own with the same level that it used to" — his argument for why we need more immigration. They've been telling you for years that Americans aren't good enough, aren't having enough babies, aren't worth prioritizing. Kim just said the quiet part loud.
"Our North Star." Not safer streets. Not lower taxes. Not better schools for your kids. Illegal aliens with criminal records sitting in an ICE facility in Newark.
That's who your senator works for. Remember that next time you're stuck in an emergency room for six hours or watching your property taxes climb to fund services for people who were never supposed to be here in the first place.
