Hollywood's Biggest Anti-MAGA Crybaby Just Proved Friendship Beats TDS Every Time

Jimmy Kimmel — the man who turned a late-night comedy show into a four-year Democratic telethon — just stood on Hollywood Boulevard and cried real tears honoring his openly conservative best friend Adam Carolla. If you're wondering whether hell has frozen over, it hasn't. Kimmel just accidentally reminded us that normal human relationships used to exist before the left made politics a religion.

I know, I know. Jimmy Kimmel doing something decent? Somebody check the water supply in Burbank.

Here's what happened. On May 27, 2026, Adam Carolla received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame — a guy who switched from Democrat to Republican back in 2012, openly trashed the Biden administration, refused to genuflect before Dr. Anthony Fauci's lockdown regime, and threw his presidential support behind Robert F. Kennedy Jr. In other words, a man who should be completely blacklisted by every rule of modern Hollywood.

And who presented his star? Jimmy Kimmel. The same Jimmy Kimmel who spent years calling President Trump every name in the book. The same Kimmel who turned his monologues into resistance rallies. That guy got up to the microphone and said, "Adam and I, as you probably know, don't agree much when it comes to politics, but I love him dearly. I've never worked with anyone funnier."

Then he choked up. Actually choked up. "I am proud of him. I am," Kimmel said, barely holding it together.

The two go way back — all the way to 1994 when they were just a couple of guys trying to be funny. They created The Man Show on Comedy Central, then Crank Yankers, back when comedy didn't require a disclaimer and a sensitivity reader. Carolla also co-hosted Loveline with Dr. Drew Pinsky, produced documentaries like Uppity and The 24 Hour War, and competed on Dancing with the Stars. The man has done more in entertainment than most people in Hollywood who lecture us about "democracy."

Kimmel shared a story about the kind of guy Carolla actually is: "He took it upon himself to build my children a playhouse in the backyard." He also recalled their boxing training together: "We did very little training. We would box for about eight minutes and then drink Snapple and go to lunch." That's called a real friendship, folks. Not a transactional alliance based on shared hashtags.

Now here's the part that makes this actually matter. Just a few weeks before this ceremony, Melania Trump called on ABC to fire Kimmel over a joke he made about her — something about her having "the glow of an expectant widow." Tasteless? Sure. But you know who defended Kimmel? Adam Carolla. The MAGA guy. The conservative. He called it "a pretty typical roast joke" and said publicly that the outrage was overblown. "When you make a joke, and then nothing happens... No one made a thing about it before the shooting," Carolla explained.

Let that sink in. A conservative defended a liberal's right to tell a bad joke. Meanwhile, the left cancels people for using the wrong pronoun at a Starbucks.

Carolla, for his part, used his Walk of Fame speech to roast Chelsea Handler into dust. "Because, you know, when you really break down birthdays, everyone has one. The worst people in the world, the most despicable people. Hitler has a birthday. Idi Amin has a birthday. Chelsea Handler has a birthday." He also joked about actor Mark Ruffalo destroying his star with a pickaxe on one of his weekly visits to smash Trump's star nearby.

Kimmel later told reporters, "I have some very close friends who think very differently, and I'm OK with that." Carolla responded on his podcast: "Jimmy knows who I am on a very deep and intimate level. Jimmy knows me, and he knows I'm not horrible."

As Bill Maher — no conservative himself — put it on social media back in November 2025: "I would never present it as an ultimatum. Ultimatums don't make people rethink their politics. They make them rethink you."

The Blaze's Christian Toto, founder of HollywoodInToto.com, pointed out what we're all thinking: in a town that blacklisted Gina Carano and James Woods for wrong-think, Carolla getting a star on the Walk of Fame — with Kimmel weeping at the podium — is the kind of moment that shouldn't be remarkable. But it is. Because the left spent a decade making friendship across political lines an act of rebellion.

We didn't make it weird. They did. And now when two old friends act like normal human beings in public, it's national news. That tells you everything you need to know about who actually broke this country's ability to have a conversation.
