Jim Jordan Just Told the DOJ to Shred Every Last Trump Case — And He Brought the Receipts

House Judiciary Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio is formally urging the Department of Justice to permanently dismiss all remaining cases against President Donald Trump — not pause them, not shelve them, not stick them in a drawer for later. Kill them dead. And he's got a bombshell report that says the whole thing was rotten from the jump.

Remember when the walls were "closing in"? Remember when every cable news haircut said the indictments were airtight? Funny how that works.

Jordan didn't mince words, telling Just The News, "It's probably time that this all just ended," and adding that the DOJ should declare "this thing is done, over with. A-B see you later." That's not legal jargon. That's an Ohio congressman telling a weaponized bureaucracy to pack its bags.

The push comes on the heels of revelations that should make every American furious. An FBI closing document dated February 5, 2025, tied to an investigation internally dubbed "Arctic Frost" — filed under "Election Law Matters" — has exposed how deep the rot went inside the agencies that were supposed to be protecting us, not targeting a sitting president's political future.

FBI Director Kash Patel didn't hold back either: "The American people deserve to know how this egregious weaponization of power to target political opponents and President Trump happened inside an institution meant to protect them."

He's right. And the names attached to this weaponization read like a who's-who of Beltway operators. Former Attorney General Merrick Garland. Former Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco. Former FBI Director Christopher Wray. Special Counsel Jack Smith, who ran his prosecution like a man on a personal vendetta.

And let's not forget U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan — an Obama appointee — who presided over the case with all the judicial neutrality of a campaign surrogate.

Here's what makes Jordan's timing perfect. The evidence retention deadline on the Arctic Frost materials runs until February 2030. Trump's presidential immunity expires in 2029. That means without a permanent dismissal, some future Democratic administration could theoretically dust off these files and take another swing. Jordan wants that door welded shut.

Think about the timeline. Trump won the November 2024 election decisively. The American people looked at everything the DOJ, the FBI, and Jack Smith threw at this man — every indictment, every leak, every breathless CNN countdown clock — and said, "Yeah, we're voting for him anyway."

The voters already dismissed these cases. Jordan is just asking the DOJ to make it official.

This is what accountability looks like. Not just winning an election and moving on. Not just letting the clock run out. But forcing the institutions that abused their power to formally acknowledge that the entire enterprise was a political hit job dressed up in legal clothing.

Years of "the walls are closing in." Years of Jack Smith's smug press conferences. Years of Merrick Garland pretending he was just following the law.

It's over. Shred the files. Burn the folders. And make sure the next Attorney General who thinks about weaponizing the DOJ against a political opponent remembers exactly how this one ended.
