Former FBI Director James Comey — the tallest man in Washington who somehow still couldn’t see the law coming for him — just got slapped with an arrest warrant on two felony counts. The charges stem from his infamous “86 47” social media post, which prosecutors say was a direct threat against President Trump.
Comey’s response? “Keep the faith.” Keep the faith! The guy who orchestrated the most politicized FBI investigation in modern American history, who leaked classified memos to a buddy at Columbia to trigger a special counsel, who stood in front of the American people and rattled off Hillary Clinton’s felonies before recommending no charges — that guy wants YOU to keep the faith. In what, exactly? His legal team?
This is his SECOND indictment, by the way. Not his first. His second. Most people go their entire lives without getting indicted even once. Comey’s collecting them like frequent flyer miles.
For those who don’t remember the “86 47” post — and honestly, Comey probably wishes you didn’t — the former FBI Director posted that little gem on social media back when he thought the rules didn’t apply to former intelligence chiefs who go on book tours. “86” is slang for getting rid of something. “47” refers to the 47th President of the United States. You don’t need a cryptography degree from Quantico to figure that one out.
Comey tried the whole “it was just a reference to a mile marker on a hiking trail” defense. Sure it was, Jim. And those classified memos you slipped to your professor buddy were just study notes. We totally believe you.
The DOJ under AG Pam Bondi has been systematically unwinding the web of corruption that the previous regime built, and Comey was always going to be one of the bigger fish. This is the man who turned the FBI into the enforcement arm of the Democratic Party. He signed off on FISA warrants based on a dossier that his own people knew was garbage. He sat in the Oval Office and told President Trump he wasn’t under investigation while his agents were actively building a case against him.
(But sure — “keep the faith.”)
The best part about this whole situation is watching the same media pundits who spent four years telling us that “no one is above the law” suddenly discover that maybe some people should be above the law. Comey’s allies at CNN and MSNBC are already spinning this as “political persecution.” These are the same people who threw a champagne party when Trump got indicted in four separate jurisdictions. Funny how that works.
Remember when Comey was the darling of the Resistance? When he was doing sold-out book readings and posing for photos in Iowa cornfields like he was running for president? When he stood in front of a cathedral-sized curtain and told us all about his “higher loyalty”? That higher loyalty apparently didn’t include not threatening the President of the United States on social media.
Two felony counts. An arrest warrant. And the man’s second trip through the federal criminal justice system.
We spent years watching Comey strut around Washington like he was untouchable — the 6’8″ bureaucrat who could destroy a presidency with a press conference and walk away whistling. He leaked. He schemed. He lied to Congress. He signed fraudulent FISA applications. And through all of it, he maintained this insufferable Boy Scout routine, quoting Reinhold Niebuhr and posting sunset photos like some kind of philosopher-king in a fleece vest.
Well, the philosopher-king just got a mugshot number. Again.
Here’s what Comey and every other deep-state operator needs to understand: the era of accountability isn’t a phase. It’s not going away after one news cycle. President Trump told us he was going to drain the swamp, and the DOJ is now pulling the plug on the biggest alligators in the pond.
Comey can keep the faith all he wants. We’ll keep the arrest warrants coming.
