The Department of Justice just indicted three illegal aliens from Guatemala for running a child smuggling pipeline that exploited Biden's wide-open border — and the government program that was supposed to protect unaccompanied migrant children. The operation ran from December 2020 to October 2023, which means for nearly three years, kids were being trafficked into the United States while the Biden administration was busy telling us how compassionate they were.
But sure, we were the monsters for wanting a wall.
The defendants — Maritza Azucena Cahuec Coc, 38, her brother Carlos Agustin Cahuec Coc, 33, and Gladys Marina Caal Chen, 20 — allegedly filed fraudulent sponsor applications using fake names and forged documents to claim familial relationships with smuggled children. They weren't foster parents. They were running a conveyor belt. A fourth defendant, Juan Tiul Xi, 27, already pleaded guilty and is serving 8 years in state prison plus 26 months in federal prison.
The scheme exploited HHS's Office of Refugee Resettlement, the program designed to place Unaccompanied Alien Children with vetted sponsors after they crossed the U.S.-Mexico border. Under Biden's HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra, these "super sponsors" gamed the system with fake paperwork, and nobody in the bureaucracy bothered to check. One of the victims was a 14-year-old girl. Tiul Xi was convicted of sexual battery against her.
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche didn't mince words. "For too many years, under the prior administration, unaccompanied children were smuggled to the United States and then taken in by a mismanaged government program," Blanche said. "Instead of protecting children, these defendants and others allegedly took advantage of the program."
That's a polite way of saying the Biden administration built a system so incompetent that literal child traffickers used it as a business model.
U.S. Attorney David Toepfer, out of the Northern District of Ohio, was even more direct: "If your business plan is to smuggle others into our country for a profit — especially children — you will come face to face with a federal judge." Good. More of that, please.
Caal Chen was arrested in January 2024. Carlos Cahuec Coc wasn't picked up until May 28 of this year. That's how long it takes to untangle the mess Biden left behind. And we're supposed to believe this was an isolated case? These weren't small-time coyotes sneaking people through the desert. This was an organized fraud operation that exploited federal refugee programs with forged documents and fake identities — an industrial scheme.
HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. inherited this disaster. The Office of Refugee Resettlement was supposed to be a safety net for vulnerable children, not a drive-through window for traffickers with a stack of fake paperwork.
Here's what drives me up the wall. Every time we said the border crisis was a child safety crisis, we got called xenophobes. Every time we pointed out that unaccompanied minors were being handed off to unvetted "sponsors," we were told we lacked compassion. Meanwhile, a 14-year-old girl was being sexually battered by one of the people the system handed her to.
The networks won't touch this story with a ten-foot pole, because it proves what we've been saying all along — Biden's border wasn't just a policy failure, it was a child endangerment machine. And the people who enabled it still have the nerve to lecture us about morality.
Every single kid who was funneled through this operation is on Biden's hands. Full stop.
