Tech Billionaire: This Is Why Dems Like Open Borders

Few subjects spark as much controversy and debate in the turbulent arena of American politics as immigration, particularly illegal immigration. With the country currently dealing with a three-year border crisis that President Joe Biden started, immigration is becoming an even more contentious topic.

Since the president’s inauguration, the number of asylum seekers and illegal aliens has been pouring into the southern border, and there doesn’t seem to be any stop in sight. In the meantime, smugglers are coming up with inventive ways to slip people into the nation while dodging law enforcement, and the White House has not taken any significant steps to stop the flow of people across the border.

Democrats have a history of being lenient on immigration. Republicans and conservatives who favor tougher enforcement of immigration rules have come under heavy fire from leftist politicians and media personalities. When former President Donald Trump entered the picture with promises to seal the southern border and deport illegal immigrants, this opposition grew more intense.

Progressives would contend that they support open borders policies because immigrants improve the country and since many of them are escaping terrible social and economic conditions in their native countries. Is there, however, a hidden agenda?

Elon Musk revealed what many know but Democrats are unwilling to acknowledge in a post on X, the old Twitter, on Monday: they support increased immigration, both legal and illegal, because they think it will benefit them politically in the long run.

Democrats refuse to deport immigrants because they all eventually become extremely potential voters. That small incentive clarifies seemingly crazy conduct. A group of illegal immigrants may now so freely beat up police officers in Times Square, get out of jail for nothing, and *still* avoid deportation! Instead, they received complimentary tickets to California from an NGO that receives some federal funding.

A simple thesis—that more immigration will eventually provide Democrats with an electoral advantage over their political rivals—lays the foundation of Musk’s piece. But there is a part of this that Musk may be overlooking. Securing these people’s votes is not the main goal. Yes, they will probably win most of those votes when they force through another amnesty that gives illegal immigrants a route to citizenship.

But it’s not just that.

Democrats would gain more seats in Congress and more electoral votes in presidential elections if there were more immigrants. The theory is that there’s a greater chance of border crossers congregating in blue states that have sanctuary towns. As a result, they are less concerned about deportation than they would be in other parts of the nation.

These states’ populations would increase as a result of this inflow. Counting these people as residents for the purposes of the Census might give these states additional electoral votes and members in the House of Representatives, particularly when legal and illegal immigrants begin to have more children.
