Judge Pleads For Help – Migrant Riots Censored By MSM

As local officials deal with the repercussions of migrants who burst through a border fence and illegally poured onto U.S. territory, a court is urging Texas to assist in providing state resources.

After some of the migrants broke the concertina wire that was erected along the Rio Grande, more than 100 migrants forced their way onto the American side of the border on Friday. The Texas Department of Public Safety. However, the detention of those migrants in nearby institutions pending trial places a significant burden on capacity.

Judge Ricardo Samaniego of El Paso County stated that the jail annex is currently at 94% capacity and would not have the capacity to house additional migrants if such an incident occurred again. He has recommended the Texas Department of Public Safety help manage the influx.

If [the Texas Department of Public Safety] took care of it, it would be really beneficial. The magistrates would come from them. They would supply the hiding place. They would take care of everything,” he told KTSM, the local news channel.

Because the state brings in inmates, counties may end up having to turn away federal offenders, which is a financial hardship, as a result of the state bringing in inmates. According to local media, federal prisoners in El Paso County, for instance, earn up to $87 per day, while state prisoners cost the county $110 per day.

The judge’s remarks coincide with the national border issue, forcing local and city leaders to plead for financial support and spend millions of their taxpayer funds in the process.

Eric Adams, the mayor of New York City, has long demanded that the Biden administration take additional action to handle the border situation and was compelled to reduce public services’ budget. Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson is requesting an additional $70 million in migrant financing from his city council, while Denver Mayor Mike Johnston is now using funds from his city’s police department to pay for services for undocumented immigrants.

Governor Greg Abbott of Texas’ Operation Lone Star, which has bussed thousands of migrants from Texas to New York City, Chicago, Denver, and other major cities deemed sanctuary jurisdictions, was largely responsible for the influx to these northern, large cities.

During President Joe Biden’s administration, interactions with migrants at the southern border have reached all-time highs. The Congressional Budget Office reports that in fiscal year 2023, over 3 million foreign immigrants either overstayed their visas or entered the country illegally, leading to their subsequent release on parole.
