Biden Tries To Con Americans, But Twitter Makes Him Regret It

After President Biden and the White House account posted on Sunday praising the dropping gas prices over the past few months, Twitter erupted with objections.

President Biden opened the discussion by pointing out that gas cost at the pump have been slowly falling for more than three months, ever since they peaked in the month of June. He added that prices have dropped by approximately 25% from their high.

As fall approaches, gas costs have decreased for more than 13 weeks in a row, he tweeted.

A short while later, the official White House account tweeted something that echoed the same narrative.

The tweet stated that “today marks 95 days of falling gas prices across the U.S.” As gas prices continue to drop at the quickest rate in more than a decade, “Americans are finding some room to breath at the pump.”

A graphic depicting some of the information on a phony receipt that boasted, on the bottom, “The fastest reduction in petrol prices in almost a decade,” was also included in the White House tweet.

However, skeptics didn’t believe the story and responded on Twitter. Despite being far lower than they were in June, some people observed that gas prices were still significantly higher than they had been at the time of President Biden’s inauguration. Others countered that the Biden White House should not be given credit for reducing gas prices after they spent weeks stating that they had no control over the rise in gas prices brought on by Russian President Vladimir Putin’s conflict against Ukraine.

In January 2020, when #Biden lifted his right hand and vowed to unify all Americans, the average national gas price was 50% lower than it is today, according to a tweet from VRWCTexan.

@ITguy1959 continued, “I was firmly informed that Vladimir Putin controlled U.S. gas pricing, so why is he doing this?”

“White House – Pres. Joe Biden isn’t to blame for the high cost of gasoline. Joe Biden did it – White House as well! Gas prices were raised by Joe Biden and then decreased by him.” According to @GovtsTheProblem’s tweet, “the Biden administration believes that Americans are ignorant.”

According to Fox News reporter and The Hill blogger Joe Concha, “this is like a guy adding 40 pounds who loses 10 again and likes to brag about never losing so much weight. Gaslighting on the highest level. Fact-checkers, of course, will largely continue to drive while asleep.”
