Biden Triggers The Illegal Immigration Flood Democrats Have Always Wanted

America may not have seen a great red wave, but it is going to be swamped in a new kind of deluge. According to the New York Post, a “avalanche” of illegal migrants has gathered on the southern American border, awaiting for Title 42 to end to allow them to enter the country. The Washington Post said in March that after the COVID-era border restriction is gone, the number of unlawful crossings might climb from the massive 6,000 to 7,000 per day to 18,000 per day.

According to the New York Post and US Customs and Border Protection, Title 42, a Trump-supported COVID-19 epidemic policy that prohibits migrants from coming into the US border, has been utilized to remove 2.3 million illegals since 2020, or almost 40% of illegals encountered. However, a federal judge has reversed the prohibition with a five-week timeline, and already there are masses sleeping on the border in anticipation of Title 42’s official conclusion on December 21.

But it’s not just asylum seekers who are coming across the border. Last month, data from the Border Patrol for Fiscal Year 2022 revealed a 600% increase in illegal “‘special interest migrants’ classified as potential national security hazards,” or 25,627 people. In Sept., Border Patrol Council Vice President Art del Cueto told Steve Bannon that criminal gangs have such sway on the border that even young teen migrants work for them.

“It’s going to be a huge avalanche of people in December,” Venezuelan asylum applicant Samuel Guerra said to the Washington Post. Guerra has been waiting in a tent city, sleeping on the ground at times, risking frigid weather, and declining an invitation to a Mexican shelter to ensure he is only a few feet away “from where he wants to turn himself over to the  Border Patrol authorities when Title 42 expires.”

“They’re terrified one of us will freeze to death,” Guerra explained. “I didn’t want to travel because I couldn’t risk leaving here and possibly losing my chance to join the United States.”

“Once Title 42 is gone, it basically means we are going to be unleashing people into the country, which, of course, only encourages more to come,” National Border Patrol Union President Brandon Judd told the Post.

He is concerned that  Mexican smuggling groups are already marketing their services to “vulnerable migrants” in anticipation of the expiration of Title 42. “Undoubtedly, they are already advertising to those nations, saying, ‘Title 42 is now over; you are free to cross,” Judd added.

Of course, the Biden team has not declared an alternative limiting strategy to Title 42. An unvetted influx of 18,000 migrants each day is apparently not a priority.
