According to Axios, Omar is reportedly trying to strong-arm her fellow House Democrats into launching impeachment proceedings against three key members of the Trump administration: Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, National Security Advisor Michael Waltz, and CIA Director John Ratcliffe. Their “crime”? Participating in a Signal text group that included brief chatter about the timing of military airstrikes on Houthi terrorists in Yemen—an enemy of the United States and a proxy for Iran’s evil regime.
But here’s the kicker: the only reason this “controversy” even exists is because The Atlantic’s anti-Trump editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg—yes, the same guy behind the debunked story that Trump allegedly insulted fallen American soldiers—was mistakenly included in the chat. Goldberg ran straight to his keyboard and turned what was clearly a routine security update into a pearl-clutching exposé, publishing so-called “attack plans” that didn’t contain a single piece of classified information.
Let’s be clear: no troop names, no mission locations, no intelligence sources or methods. Just standard updates about airstrikes targeting known terrorists—terrorists, mind you, who had been previously sanctioned by our allies and flagged as threats to American interests.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth responded with exactly the kind of backbone you want from your top Pentagon official: “These are some really s—- war plans. Jeff Goldberg has never seen a real war plan in his life.” Amen.
Even CIA Director Ratcliffe was smeared by Goldberg for allegedly revealing classified personnel, but that turned out to be a lie too. Ratcliffe merely named his own chief of staff, and the CIA later admitted it wasn’t a classified disclosure. But hey, why let facts get in the way of a left-wing hit job?
Now, Ilhan Omar wants to use this fabricated drama to launch impeachment proceedings. It’s political theater at its most pathetic—nothing more than a virtue signal to her dwindling base of far-left radicals. With Republicans holding a majority in both the House and Senate, this effort is already dead on arrival. So why push it?
Because the Left doesn’t care about national security, classified information, or truth. What they care about is undermining President Trump’s administration and sowing chaos before the 2026 midterms. It’s the same tired playbook they used during the Russia hoax, the Ukraine phone call circus, and the phony impeachments.
But this time, it’s falling flat—badly.

Thousands of Americans are slamming her for grandstanding, defending the Trump officials who were doing their jobs and protecting American lives. In fact, the only notable support Omar received came from a single fringe activist post—swiftly ratioed into oblivion.

Of course, in the leftist echo chamber of Bluesky, Omar’s tantrum got a warmer reception. But let’s not kid ourselves—Bluesky is basically MSNBC with a comment section. What happens in that digital safe space doesn’t reflect the will of the American people.
Even Axios had to admit that Democratic leadership sees this for what it is: a stunt with no future. One senior House Democrat reportedly called it an “unlikely scenario,” which is Beltway-speak for “don’t waste our time.”
So what’s the real takeaway? Omar and her Squad colleagues are once again reminding voters why Democrats can’t be trusted with power. They’d rather play political games than secure the border, fix the economy, or keep America safe.
If Democrats want to waste time chasing ghosts and pretending every Trump victory is a scandal, that’s fine. But come November 2026, they’ll find out the hard way what happens when you side with terrorist sympathizers over American servicemen and women.
