A CNN pollster named Harry Enten told viewers that if the polls are as incorrect as in the 2020 election, former President Trump will win by a “blowout.”
“Let’s say we have a poll miss like we did in 2020.”
Multiple polls show that the two candidates are very close. Enten said that an even presidential race is good for Trump because he usually does worse in polls than in the election.
“If the polls are correct, Kamala Harris gets about 276 electoral votes and Trump gets 262 because she wins those swing states around the Great Lakes even though she lost Georgia, North Carolina, and Arizona. But what if we have a poll that gets it wrong like we did in 2020?” Enten asked.
He then asked, “What happens then? Then Donald Trump wins easily with 312 electoral votes, taking home all of these Great Lakes swing states plus Nevada and the other states he was leading in, like Arizona, North Carolina, and Georgia.”
He said that the polls could go the other way like they did in 2022. That would mean Harris would easily win the race.
“Now, in that case, the winner has changed again. Kamala Harris wins by a huge margin with 319 electoral votes,” he said.
“In the end, yes, we do have those state polls trends,” he said. “But what they really mean is that this race is too close to call. It’s likely that we won’t know who won for another month or so.”
