As he attempted to board Air Force One in Poland on Wednesday, President Joe Biden slipped and caught himself before perhaps falling down the stairs.
Biden is seen in the video slowly climbing into the government-funded jet to head back home. He fell while climbing the stairs and quickly tried to right himself. He hastily turned around at the top of the stairs and saluted before getting into the plane:
When Biden climbed the stairs of Air Force One in March 2021, he fell three times, and the wind was also to fault.
“The wind outside is really strong, rather strong. While ascending the stairs, I almost fell. His health is perfect,” according to White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.
The president has a stiff gait and foot neuropathy, according to Biden’s physical assessment from last week. “Neuropathy refers to any condition that impacts the nerves outside of your brain or spinal cord,” the Cleveland Clinic states.
“There are several causes for this, including trauma, infections, and genetic diseases. There are numerous potential symptoms as well. Treatment options for this condition’s numerous causes, manifestations, or symptoms can vary greatly from person to person,” according to the clinic.
Walking up stairs is just one of Biden’s physical encounters. In Rehoboth, Delaware, in June, Biden lost control of his bicycle after getting his foot caught in the pedal:
Some observers worry that Biden’s physical condition might be an accurate reflection of his mental condition. In 2022, 38 Republican congressmen, together with Ronny Jackson (R-TX), a former doctor for Donald Trump in the White House, demanded that Biden undergo a cognitive test out of concern that he might have Alzheimer’s disease.
The lawmakers noted Biden’s “changes in mood and attitude” and “forgetfulness,” saying Biden’s cognitive abilities has been deteriorating and “is not simply a recent trend,” but has gotten more obvious “during the previous two years.”
According to reports, Biden’s physical evaluation from last week did not include a cognitive test.
Jean-Pierre told reporters that the White House wants to be open about Biden’s health despite his health issues. She said, “We want to be transparent and make sure you get the information.”
