Biden Narrowly Avoids A Tell-All Testimony–What Did He Do To This Guy?

An official from the Treasury Department Jonathan Davidson was scheduled to testify on Friday over the department’s decision to withhold the Biden family’s “highly suspicious” bank records, but he has “refused to attend the hearing.” Due to his absence, House Chairman Of the committee James Comer (R-KY) must once more threaten to issue a subpoena in order to obtain the 150 suspicious activity reports (SARs) produced by American banks.

According to a 2020 Senate report, Davidson was due to testify regarding the Biden family SARs, which “often contain evidence of suspected criminal acts, such as fraud and money laundering,” on Friday at 9:00 AM.

However, Davidson “declined to attend the meeting,” according to Comer’s news statement from Tuesday night, as the Treasury “refused to give a schedule of when such papers will be supplied to the Committee despite our repeated requests.”

Following concerns that his testimony would be affected by political prejudice, Davidson declined to comment on whether the Biden family bank documents were being withheld.

He was nominated for the Treasury position by Biden, who had already hired him to work on the 2020 transition team. In addition, he spent more than 20 years working in Democrat politics on Capitol Hill. Erin Sheehy, a partner with Education Forward DC, a group that strives to enhance “diversity in DC public schools,” is married to Davison.

The political background of Davidson is explained by the fact that he works for a nonpartisan, taxpayer-funded organization that has declined to cooperate with Comer’s inquiry into the Biden family. Comer’s investigation aims to ascertain whether President Joe Biden has been compromised by the Chinese Communist Party and what changes should be made to the law to curtail influence peddling.

“The purpose of Comer’s inquiry is to follow the money and uncover the national security implications of the Biden family’s dubious business dealings. These reports of suspicious conduct are vital to this probe,” Comer said on Tuesday. “Soon, Biden’s Treasury Department’s resistance will force us to use the gavel to get these records.”

“We have had enough of the excuses, and we are calling on Assistant Secretary Jonathan Davidson to testify next week under oath. Treasury Department representatives have stated repeatedly that they are assisting the Committee’s request, yet all we have seen is resistance. We’ve made numerous sincere concessions, but Treasury keeps making excuses and using delaying strategies.”

Comer issued a warning in February that stonewalling strategies would eventually lead to a subpoena. “We must give them every opportunity to provide us with that information if the subpoenas are to succeed in court,” Comer added. “They now have the ball.”
