He was nominated for the Treasury position by Biden, who had already hired him to work on the 2020 transition team. “We have had enough of the excuses, and we are calling on Assistant Secretary Jonathan Davidson to testify next week under oath. Treasury Department representatives have stated repeatedly that they are assisting the Committee’s request, yet all we have seen is resistance. We’ve made numerous sincere concessions, but Treasury keeps making excuses and using delaying strategies.”

Comer issued a warning in February that stonewalling strategies would eventually lead to a subpoena. “We must give them every opportunity to provide us with that information if the subpoenas are to succeed in court,” Comer added. “They now have the ball.”
