When he said, “I may be a white boy, but I am not stupid,” at a reception celebrating African Americans throughout the nation’s history, President Joe Biden was met with a barrage of criticism for what was perceived as a “racist” remark.
President Biden said that “black history matters” on Monday at a White House reception in honor of Black History Month after Florida Governor Ron DeSantis reportedly rejected an AP course for African American studies in high school as a result of his “Stop Woke Act,” which aims to outlaw Critical Race Theory (CRT) in the state’s public schools.
“History matters and the White House should make it clear for the sake of the entire nation.” He told the audience of about 400 people that “both black history and history in general matter. “I cannot simply decide to study the things I wish to know. We get the necessary knowledge. Everything, including the truth, the good, the evil, and who we are as a country, must be learned.”
Great nations do that, he continued.
The president said, “I may be a white boy, but I’m not stupid,” in reference to the National Pan-Hellenic Body (NPHC), a collaborative umbrella council made up of nine historic African American sororities and fraternities that are known as the “Divine Nine.”
He said, “I know where the power is. “You believe I’m kidding? I’ve known about the Divine Nine for a very long time.
Many people responded by criticizing the “racist” remarks on social media.
Conservative author Nick Adams declared that “Joe Biden was the most racially divisive president to hold the office of president since Lyndon Johnson.”
According to “fact-checker,” Collin Rugg of right-wing media, “misleading information. He is ignorant in addition to being white.”
Political columnist Benny Johnson stated that “Biden made the entire White House audience CRINGE in terror after referring to himself as a “white lad” during a Black History Month event.”
“The racists are the ones who make these fawning, self-deprecating remarks,” according to best-selling author John LeFevre.
“Well, Joe, I guess you got this one half right,” a Twitter user said.
“What a stupid statement,” someone else exclaimed.
“He has always been racist,” according to another Twitter user.
The issue arises as the “woke” left and mainstream media continue to promote anti-white attitudes.
The University of Cambridge was accused of anti-white racism after it first barred white working-class students from a post-graduate program intended for students from underrepresented groups, according to a report from Saturday.
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, charged on Sunday that American media outlets were “racist against whites & Asians.”
Parents gathered last week to demand the dismissal of Scottsdale Unified School District Superintendent Scott Menzel after he claimed that white people have a “problematic” racial identity.
At a Jackson Board of Education meeting last month, parents condemned Michigan school board member Kesha Hamilton for her anti-white remarks, which included assertions that “whiteness is wicked” and that white people are “more dangerous” than animals.
