Armed Haitians Reach Florida – DeSantis Prepares Vengeance

The collapse of Haiti was a long time coming. The assassination of the country’s president took place on July 7, 2021. More than 2,200 individuals lost their lives in a severe earthquake that struck the island the following month. A terrifying convergence of criminal activity and carnage has engulfed the island country in the years since.

Murderers have seized control of the nation’s capital, released thousands of prisoners from prison, committed systematic rape, compelled the prime minister to step down, and even threatened genocide, despite NBC News’s recent reassurances that cannibal gangsters from yesteryear are not currently stalking the corpse-strewn streets of Port-au-Prince seeking their next meal.

The bankrupt nation seems to be exporting its troubles, according to recent news reports of a Haitian illegal immigrant allegedly raping a teenager in Massachusetts and a boat attempting to reach the Florida coasts with Haitian migrants and weapons.

The Republican governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, has made it clear that he will not stand for this threat to his state.

In his statement last week, DeSantis reaffirmed Florida’s stance against illegal immigration and the lawlessness perpetrated by those who do not belong here.

The Republican leader has proposed sending the Haitian immigrants who illegally entered the nation to Martha’s Vineyard by bus, in addition to increasing the number of troops stationed around the shore. After all, at least three of the communities in the affluent liberal enclave have passed sanctuary measures recently.

Two police on nighttime maritime patrol in Sebastien Inlet apprehended a 42-foot boat carrying scores of Haitian migrants and weapons, according to last week’s revelations by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

The governor informed reporters during a news conference on March 15 that the individuals in question were in possession of handguns and night vision equipment and were traveling at a dangerous pace, putting other people at risk.

The Democratic-run communities that have positioned themselves as safe havens for lawbreakers have been receiving an influx of illegal immigrants from border states like Florida, Texas, and others in recent years.

Not only has this effort proven the leftists’ sanctuary rhetoric to be empty, but it has also successfully exposed northern cities to the realities that border states have long faced. An example would be the recent demand by New York City Mayor Eric Adams to revise the “sanctuary” policy of the city. The city of Chicago has just started removing illegal immigrants from its overcrowded shelters.

This week, DeSantis spoke with conservative radio personality Dana Loesch about the possibility that Florida would start transporting Haitian illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard via bus.

In 2022, the governor, who was a Republican, sent 40 or 50 undocumented immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard via bus. A military base was the first stop for the migrants once they arrived at the liberal enclave, which wasted no time in throwing them out.

“The federal government is going to instruct the host nations not to take our planes,” the governor informed Loesch, implying that Florida would be unable to simply fly Haitians back to Haiti if they were to get into the state.

That is why we’re trying so hard to get them before they reach the coasts, DeSantis added. I will mention that we do have a transport program, and it will be operating as well. The Haitians’ next stop may be Martha’s Vineyard, if they land in the Florida Keys.

Illegal immigrants are putting a heavy strain on Massachusetts, which has essentially been a sanctuary state since 2017, and the state is bearing the brunt of the financial burden.

The housing and finance secretaries under Democratic Governor Maura Healey predicted in December that the cost of housing migrants in fiscal year 2025 would be around $915 million.

Additionally, DeSantis informed Loesch that Florida will not be accepting any incoming waves of Haitian immigration.

“I must protect my state,” the governor declared. “I already have enough on my plate dealing with folks escaping blue states and settling in Florida.”
