Why The Biden And Trump Document Scandals Are Different

The finding of two sets of sensitive documents in President Joe Biden’s possession is extremely frustrating and inconvenient, and Big Media wants us all to know it.

Because they have to continually remind the ignorant people that this case is vastly different from the case of the documents concerning former President Trump, it is inconvenient for Democrat activists in the media. Inconvenient for AG Merrick Garland because it would appear to most people that he holds his boss to one standard while holding his employer’s former and potential future opponent to a different one. However, as others kindly point out, it is also problematic for Trump because he can no longer accuse Biden of committing a crime without first owning up to his own guilt.

The media is putting an extra effort to distinguish between the two situations after it breathlessly claimed that the documents Trump kept included American nuclear secrets that he would sell to adversaries abroad. Before another tranche of classified information was reportedly discovered in a different Biden location, Biden had only a small number of documents that were classified. The documents were discovered at a location known as the “Penn Biden Center,” according to Biden’s lawyers, who point out that they immediately cooperated with the National Archives. However, the discovery wasn’t made public until after the Nov. midterm elections.

But given what we now know, Trump shouldn’t have any issue denouncing Biden without owning up to his own responsibility. For starters, Biden hid his records after stepping down as VP, a position that, unlike Trump’s, did not grant him the authority to declassify any federal records on his own. The fact that Bide’s son spent a significant portion of his father’s time as vice president trading influence for big contracts and no-show jobs is another significant difference, particularly in light of the recent reports that Biden’s documents contained classified info about Iran, Ukraine and the United Kingdom.

Trump’s papers were kept secure in a Mar-a-Lago room as his attorneys argued with the National Archives about the significance of the records. At least the first set of Biden docs, which contained top secret and “sensitive classified” information, was located at a phony think tank that is a division of a university that is said to have received $54 million in donations from sources connected to China. The actions of the Justice Dept. and the media may be the most glaring distinction between the two situations. The media is interfering with Biden rather than wildly discussing what he was hiding. Additionally, the Justice Dept. appears satisfied to treat the Biden issue as one big misunderstanding even though the FBI searched Trump’s house and AG Merrick Garland put in place a special counsel to look into the former president.

We still do not know what the docs found during the historic August raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence related to, but we will eventually learn if the evidence is sufficiently damaging. However, don’t count on Garland to press the issue in Joe Biden’s case. So it seems more like an attempt to get ahead of something rather than go to the root of it.
