What’s Happening In Virginia Should Scare Democrats

Virginia’s Republican governor, Glenn Youngkin, recently issued an executive order outlining the measures the commonwealth has taken to restore trust in the electoral process. These measures include the removal of tens of thousands of noncitizens and deceased voters from voting lists.

In an effort “to safeguard the casting of legitimate ballots by lawfully qualified voters in Virginia’s elections,” Youngkin signed Executive Order 35 on Wednesday. Those who live in other states probably wish Virginia had a few of the voting restrictions stated in the EO:

“There will be 100% paper ballots, a rigorous chain of custody for all ballots, daily reconciliation during the early voting period, “no mass mailing of ballots”—a mail-in ballot application is required, round-the-clock surveillance of all drop boxes, a strict prohibition against connecting counting machines to the internet, and no “voting machines”—only machines intended to count ballots.”

The EO also detailed current initiatives to purge voter lists through audits and the tracking of voters who have either gone away or relocated out of state. In 2023 alone, the Commonwealth’s voter lists saw the removal of about 80,000 deceased voters.

“Virginia SHOULD BE THE MODE FOR EVERY STATE.”

Perhaps even more significant is that the EO claimed to have deleted 6,303 noncitizens who are still living and who either “purposefully or unintentionally registered to vote” in Virginia.

Additionally, before granting documents like a driver’s license, Virginia DMVs check an individual’s legal status using databases maintained by the Social Security Administration and the Department of Homeland Security Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements. Furthermore, Virginia is one of only three states that demands that residents provide their complete, nine-digit Social Security number in order to register to vote.

Unless the voter’s information, consisting of their date of birth and the last four digits of their social security number, matches the voter’s record in the state’s voter registration database, Virginia does not count even sent-in votes. Thus, there is a far lower likelihood of additional noncitizens falling between the gaps and voting there.

In conclusion, the EO requires the commissioner of the Virginia Department of Elections to submit an annual report to the governor, attesting to the observance of all protocols related to ballot security, machine testing, and a “triple-check” of the integrity of all election results.

Youngkin asserts that Virginia has set the standard for voting machine dependability, ballot security, and “voter list upkeep,” demonstrating his pride in the EO and his home state.

This is an American and Virginian problem, not a Democratic or Republican one. Illegitimate votes and erroneous voting devices should not distort any legitimate vote’s results. We don’t play games here in Virginia, and our election security methodology is effective,” Youngkin remarked.

“The Virginia election security model is effective.”

Former President Donald Trump praised Youngkin’s EO and dedication to election integrity. Trump would want to win Virginia’s 13 electoral votes this November.

Under the capable leadership of Governor Glenn Youngkin, the stunning Commonwealth of Virginia is leading the way in securing the November election by protecting every legitimate vote and preventing illegal aliens who have gained entry into our nation from casting ballots. The voting process will employ paper ballots for all votes, which will be safely and equitably counted instead of using internet-connected voting machines, which pose a significant security risk. To ensure that the election is secure and fair, we must put in a lot of effort! Every state must follow Virginia’s lead. It’s crucial that volunteers observe the polls. “The November 5th election is going to be the most significant in our nation’s history.” Many thanks, Glenn. Fantastic work!” Trump posted on Truth Social.
