During a press conference outside of the New York courthouse on Tuesday, Donald Trump Jr. stated that the actions taken against the former president are creating a “disastrous precedent” for the American justice system.
Calling the proceedings a “complete farce,” Donald Trump Jr. stated that his father’s forced appearance in court rather than continuing on the campaign road is a “complete miscarriage of justice” that should “embarrass” everyone in America. Notably, the former president said on Monday that Judge Juan Merchan’s early start of the criminal trial resulted in his having to postpone his campaign address that morning.
“There is no crime.” Don Jr. clarified, pointing out that Judge Merchan’s daughter is “earning millions, millions off of this particular case.” “The rigged system prevents the witnesses, who are experts in these areas, from providing meaningful testimony.”
However, in New York City, “we are simply going to allow it,” so it is not a problem. “You are not permitted to ask the damaging questions of our defense when it goes after what are perhaps the least credible witnesses in the history of — I do not know — witnesses,” he said.
The key witness is a “nine times convicted liar and now a confessed thief,” he said, criticizing Michael Cohen harshly.
They are basing the entire case on that person. He made reference to Stormy Daniels when he remarked, “The other one happens to be a porn star.”
This is hardly the pinnacle of jurisprudence. But that is all you have,” he remarked, highlighting how ridiculous everything was.
He said, “And what it is doing is establishing a horrible precedent for our court system and for justice in America,” adding that everyone is vulnerable if it could happen to someone as well-known and immensely popular as Trump.
“With a platform, hundreds of millions of followers, and the ability to fight, if it can happen to Donald Trump, it can happen to anybody.” They have weaponized this system against their political rivals, and they have begun to descend a very hazardous and steep slope. The eldest Trump son continued, asserting that such obvious prejudice “cannot exist in the United States of America or anywhere else.”
“People would be yelling about this if it were happening in a third-world banana republic right now. The media and the people would be in a state of fury. Rather, your silence is deafening and repulsive, and I assume you are okay with the outcome as long as it is against Donald Trump,” he stated, stressing that this “cannot stand.”

Don Jr. made his comments following the conclusion of questioning Robert Costello, Cohen’s former advisor, while the former president’s defense was being considered in the New York business records trial.
