No actions like this come without risks, and I imagine the story will get more complicated over time, but that’s why these types of decisions are complicated. Although I believe electing Kamala Harris would have been better for our democracy, society, and economy, as well as for helping the most vulnerable people in the United States and around the world, I also believe VP Harris would not have had the courage or fortitude to take such an essential step as the president took last night.
America’s security cannot hinge on indecision or hesitation. The Biden-Harris administration’s approach to Iran was characterized by appeasement, weakness, and wishful thinking. Their attempts to revive the disastrous Iran nuclear deal did nothing but empower and embolden the extremist regime, putting America and its allies at grave risk. Under their watch, Iran made significant strides toward nuclear weaponization, a threat President Trump has now decisively addressed with strength and clarity.
With this strike, President Trump has reaffirmed the key principles of the America First doctrine: protecting American citizens, defending our allies, and neutralizing threats before they reach our shores.
