Mike Waltz as his White House National Security Adviser, putting one of the most battle-tested, no-nonsense leaders right at the center of America’s national security apparatus. Waltz is more than just a congressman from Florida; he’s the first Green Beret to serve in Congress, a veteran of Afghanistan, the Middle East, and Africa, and one of the few people in Washington who actually understands what it takes to keep America safe.
Now, as Trump’s top national security adviser, Waltz will have his hands full. From arming Ukraine against Russia’s aggression, countering North Korea’s growing alliance with Russia, and keeping Iran’s terror proxies in the Middle East in check, Waltz will be the man coordinating Trump’s America First foreign policy on all fronts. Waltz has led the charge against China’s influence in our hemisphere, warning everyone that Beijing’s growing footprint in places like the Caribbean and Latin America is a real, direct threat to America. “The alarm bells are ringing over China’s increased presence in our hemisphere,” Waltz has said, even calling for a new Monroe Doctrine to counter Chinese expansion.
Waltz has been on a mission to curb America’s reliance on China for critical minerals, which power our economy. He’s introduced bills to boost partnerships with South America and other allies, ensuring we don’t wake up one day to find ourselves dependent on Beijing. As he rightly pointed out, “It’s against our strategic interests for China to try and monopolize these exports and install military bases that can be used against us should a conflict arise over Taiwan’s sovereignty.”
Waltz’s no-nonsense stance on China didn’t stop at minerals. Back in 2021, he openly called out the Chinese Communist Party for its genocide of Uyghur Muslims, its forced labor camps, and its attempts to strong-arm the world into ignoring these atrocities by hosting the 2022 Winter Olympics. Waltz was the first member of Congress to call for a full U.S. boycott of those Olympics, and he wasn’t shy about calling out the Democrats who tried to sidestep the issue.
With Waltz, Trump has picked a true fighter, someone who doesn’t bend to political whims or media pressure. Instead, he fights for the core values that make America great—freedom, strength, and standing firm against the enemies of democracy. Trump’s pick shows once again that he’s serious about tackling the threats we face, both foreign and domestic.
