Speaking at his first formal campaign-trail rally on Saturday night in South Carolina, former President Trump called for peace talks to settle the conflict between Ukraine and Russia and promised to start deporting illegal aliens right away if elected.
“Joe Biden has pushed us to the verge of World War III by his weakness and stupidity. Just in case somebody doesn’t know it, we’re on the verge of World War III,” Trump said, surrounded by the heads of his campaign’s South Carolina leadership team, Governor Henry McMaster (R-SC) and Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC). “Through power, in my capacity as president, I shall restore peace.”
According to Trump, there would have been “zero probability of a conflict with Russia and Ukraine if he had been elected president.”
He continued by saying that a peace accord between the nations is awaiting:
“And I’ll say this: even now, despite the terrible death toll and the devastation of a large portion of that nation, I would have a peace agreement reached within 24 hours. Right now, during the next 24 hours, you can reach an agreement allowing both parties to live in harmony. That agreement could be done. This deal needs to be completed, but no one is available to accomplish it.”
In order to defend and “protect Americans from the threat of nuclear weapons and hypersonic missiles,” Trump then made reference to his policy proposal to “construct state-of-the-art, next-generation missile defense shields.” In a campaign policy video that was made public last week, he already described the plan.
The 45th president advocated for the swift deportation of illegal immigrants earlier in his speech. According to Breitbart News, since President Joe Biden took office, 4.2 million illegal aliens have been detained at the southwest border.
“They’re coming from jails, mental hospitals, and a lot of other horrible places, and that’s going to create a lot of issues,” added Trump, who also claimed:
“We need to sort it out as soon as possible, and we need to get rid of a lot of people as soon as possible because we can not have what they are sending. They are sending assassins, murderers, rapists, and, very frankly, terrorists or terrorists who are arriving on their own, and we just cannot allow this to happen. Therefore, anyone who crossed the border illegally will be immediately sent home. Especially the dangerous ones, and they’ll go quickly.”
Several hours after delivering the keynote speech at the New Hampshire Republican Party’s yearly meeting in Salem, New Hampshire, Trump traveled to South Carolina, the second primary state in the nation. If elected president, Trump promised to keep New Hampshire’s position as the nation’s first primary state “for many, many years to come,” according to Breitbart News.
