Oklahoma’s State Education Superintendent Ryan Walters has made it clear: God belongs in America’s classrooms. In a bold move, Walters has teamed up with patriotic singer Lee Greenwood to bring Bibles back into state schools, ensuring that students have access to the book that has shaped America’s history, law, and culture.
This initiative comes despite fierce objections from left-wing legislators, who balked at a $3 million proposal to purchase Bibles for Advanced Placement (AP) U.S. Government classes. But Walters isn’t backing down.
“We’re bringing Bibles back to classrooms – honoring their role in shaping American history, law, and culture,” he posted on X. “Let’s get back to the basics!”

Thank you, @TheLeeGreenwood for standing with us to give students access to this foundational text. Let’s get back to the basics! pic.twitter.com/DwVWatxsJo

Greenwood, famous for his patriotic anthem “God Bless the USA”, has stepped up to help fund the initiative, launching a website where Americans can donate Bibles to Oklahoma schools for $59.99 each.
This fight isn’t just about Oklahoma. It’s about restoring moral foundations in America’s education system.
America Pushed God Out—And the Consequences Are Clear
For decades, America’s public schools have been stripped of prayer, moral instruction, and even the mention of God. The result? A complete breakdown of discipline, skyrocketing violence, and plummeting academic performance.
Compare today’s classrooms to those of the 1950s, when prayer and Biblical values were still part of public education:
- School shootings were unheard of
- Teachers were respected, and discipline was enforced
- Students learned values like honesty, hard work, and personal responsibility
Now, schools push radical gender ideology, critical race theory, and secularism, while rejecting the very book that helped establish America’s system of law and government.
The Bible’s Place in American History
The Founding Fathers understood the Bible’s crucial role in shaping a free society. The Supreme Court once ruled that “the Bible is a textbook of civic and moral duty.” The first public school textbooks were filled with scripture and Christian moral teachings.
Even public schools in early America required Bible reading and prayer. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and John Adams all acknowledged that America cannot survive without a moral and religious foundation.
The Left has tried to erase this history, but Oklahoma’s bold stand proves that Americans are waking up.
Faith is the Key to Saving America’s Next Generation
Oklahoma’s fight for the Bible isn’t just about education—it’s about saving America’s youth.
The rise in school shootings, suicide rates, and crime among young people can all be traced to a culture that has abandoned faith and embraced moral relativism.
If schools can push drag queen story hour, gender confusion, and anti-American propaganda, why can’t students also have access to the greatest book ever written?
This is why Oklahoma’s leadership is so critical. They are setting the precedent for other states to follow. It’s time for every conservative leader to step up and put God back in the classroom.
The Fight is Far from Over
Superintendent Walters is already facing legal challenges from leftist activists who want to ban religious materials from classrooms while allowing their own ideological propaganda. But he isn’t backing down.
Oklahoma is leading the charge, and it’s time for the rest of America to follow. If we want to restore discipline, morality, and excellence in schools, we must put God back in the equation.
