Texas is warning mayors of sanctuary cities in neighboring states to “gear up” because “more migrant buses are on their way.” Governor Greg Abbott of Texas ordered more buses to transport migrants who were let out on the streets of border towns.
“I have told the Texas Division of Emergency Management to provide more buses to bring these migrants to self-declared sanctuary cities and help our border towns that are being overrun,” Governor Abbott said in a written statement this week. “Until President Joe Biden does what the Constitution says he must do to protect the southern border of the United States, Texas will keep sending as many buses as are needed to ease the traffic caused by the large number of illegal immigrants.”
The governor directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management to boost the number of buses available to transport migrants who have been released onto the streets of border towns to sanctuary cities in neighboring states. These places are Washington, D.C., New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Denver, and Los Angeles so far.
Border Patrol officers caught almost 87,000 people who crossed the border into the five Texas-based border areas in the first three weeks of September. More than 4,100 people have come every day since September 1, on average.
According to unconfirmed Border Patrol reports that Breitbart Texas looked at, nearly 60% of all migrants caught along the southwest border with Mexico were caught in Texas.
According to Christensen, there is a nearly continual flow of buses leaving the Rio Grande Valley Sector towns of Brownsville and McAllen. Reports say that more than 31,000 migrants have been caught in the RGV Sector in just three weeks, making it the busiest sector in Texas this month.
A little less than the RGV Sector, with almost 29,000 arrests, the Del Rio Sector and the El Paso Sector both had 25,000 arrests.
“Because President Biden won’t secure our border, thousands of people cross illegally into Texas and our country every day,” Governor Abbott said. “Texas cities like Eagle Pass and El Paso shouldn’t have to deal with the unprecedented wave of illegal immigration that President Biden’s careless policies on the border have caused.”
