A Republican Rep from New Mexico, Yvette Herrell, just announced that she is planning on introducing new legislation that will grant asylum temporarily to the truckers in Canada that are protesting for their freedom against the country’s tyrannical vaccine and COVID mandates in recent weeks.
The “Freedom Convoy” has been protesting in Canada against the restrictions for weeks now, and blocked a critical crossing between Michigan and Ontario called the Ambassador Bridge.
The authorities in Canada have started arresting the protestors in the capital city of the country, Ottawa. As of the morning of Sunday, almost 200 of the protestors were arrested. Among those that were arrested, a massive 103 have already been charged, with most of them being for obstruction and mischief. And an additionaly, 57 vehicles have already been towed.
Herrell says that we need to provide asylum for the truckers just like we do for political prisoners. They’ve already been subjected to violence, had their bank accounts frozen and property confiscated. She says the government in Canada is becoming an embarrassment to all of the free world.
“I am introducing legislation that would temporarily grant asylum to innocent Canadian protesters who are being persecuted by their own government. We cannot be silent as our neighbors to the north are treated so badly,” she said.
It’s been over three weeks since the protests occupied the capital city in Canada. The Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, invoked Canada’s Emergencies act last week in a desperate attempt to halt the protests. They also used their powers to seize the bank accounts of the protestors.
Right now, the Capitol Police in America are preparing for a demonstration in our nation’s capital, as well. You know what they say about karma.
