Rep. James Comer (R-KY), chairman of the House Oversight Committee, supported his committee’s effort to look into alleged inappropriate actions by the Manhattan DAs office regarding the attempted prosecution of former President Trump during Monday’s broadcast of FBN’s “Mornings with Maria.”
Comer stated that legislative Republicans believed DOJ resources are still being used to pursue Trump as well as other conservatives.
“In America, there is a two-tiered justice system,” he explained. “You presented the clip with Jim Jordan earlier, speaking about how Donald Trump has been treated differently than Joe Biden for his apparent mishandling of classified papers. Despite working with the National Archives, Donald Trump was searched. We don’t know the full scope of Joe Biden’s actions. All we know is that he has classified papers strewn about from his tenure as a U.S. Senator. From my inquiry into Biden’s family influence, I can tell you that there is one document in particular that we are very worried about, and that is a document that Hunter Biden had sent to officials at Burisma in Ukraine. It was an official paper.”
“We are worried that it was one of those classified documents, but there was not a raid of Joe Biden’s class – his various locations that had classified documents – and there is nothing on the National Archives website about Joe Biden,” Comer added. “According to the National Archives website, they had raided Donald Trump, but there is nothing mentioned of Joe Biden actually having five different locations. As a result, this is a continuing trend. We are worried about it. To answer your query, I believe we will need to address the financing issue. We think that the Department of Justice’s continued weaponization and attempts to go after conservatives are wasting taxpayer money. Again, we do not think Donald Trump would even be in Manhattan court today if he wasn’t a top candidate for the presidency in 2024.”
