Republican Sheriff Warns Biden About Illegal Immigration Consequences

Monroe County, Florida Sheriff Rick Ramsay (R) stated that having to deal with migrants in his county is negatively affecting his agency’s ability to safeguard its citizens and claimed that the federal govt. has failed to come up with a solution despite warnings that a problem was coming on Wednesday’s episode of “Fox & Friends” on the Fox News Channel.

Ramsay said that “it takes a lot of staff to handle the increase. I’m always having to pull resources to respond to landings where police, fire, and rescue are being diverted because it’s what we in a rural county believe to be a mass influx. And the humanitarian disaster that is resulting from this worries us. Border Patrol is so overburdened at this point that groups of migrants must wait for a very long time on the side of the road before being picked up, processed, or attended to. We really requested a pickup for a group of migrants the other day, but they were so busy that they informed us that they might not be able to arrive until the next day. So, what should we do, abandon a group of women, children, and youths on the side of the road for a day or a day and a half? There are no facilities, food, or housing. Therefore, it’s somewhat alarming. In general, I’m concerned for Monroe’s residents’ safety. My capacity to do my duty of protecting, serving, patrolling, and taking care of my citizens is affected by this.”

“We just want the administration to have a real strategy that works for this region,” he continued. “Every region is unique. But nothing about this was unexpected. We’ve previously spoken with the authorities and warned them that this is becoming worse. You need to start developing an action plan right away so that we can lessen the impact of this issue when it does arise. There isn’t much of a plan at the moment, but things are happening as we anticipated.”
