New Lockdowns Announced! Only One Case Of This Rare Virus

The government is putting lockdowns in place for people in four Massachusetts towns for the weakest of reasons.

From the New York Post:

“In an effort to stop the spread of a disease that could be dangerous, four towns in Massachusetts—Douglas, Sutton, Oxford, and Webster—have put in place a voluntary evening lockdown.”

“After confirming the first case of Eastern equine encephalitis since the year 2020 in Worcester County, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) made the choice.”

“A public health advisory shared with Fox News Digital says that on Wednesday, the Oxford Board of Health decided to back the advice that people stay inside after 6 p.m., starting right away and going through September 30. From October 1, stay inside after 5 p.m. until the first hard frost.”

This fact is mostly forgotten because all the rules for controlling diseases were thrown out the window overnight with coronavirus—they literally changed the meaning of “vaccine” to fit mRNA shots—but lockdowns during a pandemic were never normal in history, let alone for a single case of a virus that’s been around for hundreds of years and only infects a few people each year and can’t be passed from person to person.

The local government is saying that these changes are “optional,” but the devil is in the details. You now need a permission slip and proof of insurance to get on public lands.

More:

“The lockdowns are just suggestions,” a town spokeswoman said. “There will be no consequences for people who don’t follow them.”

What the statement said next: “We want to teach our people about EEE and the danger of the virus and make them aware of the risk.”

“If they still want to use town fields after these suggestions, they will need to show proof of having insurance and sign a form waiving liability.”
