Do you remember how Liz Cheney said she would have a “megaphone” after she lost the Wyoming primary? People thought that her 40-point loss would only make her stronger, giving her the chance to speak out loudly and strongly against what they saw as the excesses of her own political party. Cheney was going to defend “democracy” and set herself up well for a run for president in 2024.
Of course, those in the mass media who were complaining the most were wrong — none of that actually happened. She has been pushed to the edges of society instead, most likely simply because she is no longer beneficial to the Democratic Party.
I’m sorry to say this, but Cheney is back, if only for a short time. She’s here to show you why the majority of Republicans cannot stand her.
I find it hard to believe that someone like Cheney can still act like they have some kind of moral high ground when their direct policy decisions have killed millions of innocent individuals in Libya, Iraq, and Syria. This woman didn’t speak out against the bombing of Libya; instead, she urged President Obama to proceed even more. Libya has turned into hell on earth and the biggest modern-day slave market in the world because of this.
In Syria, too, the results were equally as bad. The US helped start a useless civil war that killed more than 500,000 people, and Cheney has never shown any sorrow. What do you call a person who causes so much pain and death and doesn’t feel bad about it? A sociopath is what you call them.
Cheney and other people like her have no right to talk about anything, let alone foreign policy. It’s hard to understand how arrogant they must be that they keep trying to do this while acting like lights in the darkness. Cheney tells people to “read some history,” but I’d tell her to read her own history first.
No matter what, Nazi Germany’s rise from 1938 to 1939, which led to its taking over Europe, is nothing like Russia today. Vladimir Putin is a tyrant, and his attack on Ukraine is just a last-ditch effort to keep his power. We hate that, but it doesn’t mean Russia is a threat to rule the continent. NATO is bigger now than it has ever been, and Russia’s military power is mostly just a show. The past year and a half of fighting has exceedingly proved this point.
To put it simply, Cheney can sit down. No one has less authority than she does to talk about current events. Heck, she would stop speaking about Ukraine if she really cared about it, but she doesn’t. Just opening her mouth will hurt efforts to build support more than it helps.
