Another day, another mainstream media lie—and this time, Rachel Maddow got caught red-handed.
Maddow falsely claimed on MSNBC that President Donald Trump and Elon Musk engaged in a corrupt $400 million Tesla contract deal through the State Department. But here’s the truth:
- Biden’s administration, not Trump’s, created the contract.
- Only one company bid on it—Tesla.
- The contract is now on hold.
Once again, the leftist media twists the facts to attack Trump and Musk, even when Biden’s own policies were to blame.
The Biden Admin’s Green Scam Exposed
Under Biden, the State Department launched a plan to convert 3,000 armored diplomatic vehicles into electric Teslas as part of their woke climate agenda. The project was put in motion in April 2024, when Biden’s Bureau of Diplomatic Security issued a request for information.
Only one company responded—Tesla. That’s not corruption—that’s the market.
Tonight, Rachel Maddow led her show with a hit piece against the Cybertruck & Elon, suggesting the proposed $400M for armored Teslas was an example of “self-dealing.”

But now that Trump’s back in office and Musk is cutting wasteful spending, the State Department has hit pause on Biden’s green energy boondoggle.
Maddow’s Liberal Meltdown
Despite the clear facts, Maddow went on MSNBC and falsely accused Trump and Musk of rigging the contract for Tesla.
“Not at all illegal and or profoundly corrupt for the president to put someone with billions of dollars in government contracts personally in charge of deciding what happens to government contracts,” she sneered.
Musk immediately shut her down, calling out her blatant lies. Other leftist outlets, like Rolling Stone and NPR, ran with the same fake narrative—hoping their audience wouldn’t bother checking the facts.
The Hard Truth: We’re Still Cleaning Up Biden’s Mess
Trump never approved this contract. In fact, it’s now on hold, and there’s no plan to move forward with the Biden-era deal.
“The solicitation is on hold and there are no current plans to issue it,” the State Department confirmed.
Maddow and the corporate media will say anything to smear Trump and Musk, even when the Biden regime was the real culprit.
