Former Trump Advisor Hints At Donald’s VP Choice

Former Trump strategist Steve Bannon argues that a unity ticket featuring former President Donald Trump with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. “would prove insurmountable” in the 2024 presidential election.

Bannon said this week that He would definitely “love for Kari Lake or any one of these strong women” to be Trump’s choice for running mate but recognizes “an extremely compelling reason” for Trump to team up with Kennedy instead. Bannon was speaking to Charlie Kirk, CEO of Turning Point USA.

Last Monday, Kennedy, the 69-year-old son of former United States Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy who was assassinated and the nephew of assassinated former President John F. Kennedy, launched his candidacy for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2024.

While the most recent polling data shows Kennedy trailing the pack of Democratic contenders, his campaign is still in its early stages and could profit from Americans’ enormous dislike of watching President Joe Biden run for a second time.

According to a recent NBC News poll of 1,000 Americans conducted April 14-18, 70% of respondents, which includes 51% of Democrats, believe Biden, the most elderly president ever to take office, shouldn’t compete for re-election in 2024.

According to a USA Today/Suffolk University survey conducted on April 15, 14% of Joe Biden’s 2020 followers would cast their votes for Kennedy.

If Kennedy doesn’t manage to get the Democratic nomination, he might still have a road to the White House.

“I realize Bobby Kennedy is awful on guns, he ain’t terrific on Ukraine, but he is talking about going against the administrative deep state in an extremely significant way,” Bannon said to Kirk. “It would prove insurmountable if we pulled together a unity ticket with Trump and Kennedy. We would draw many left-wing populists over… and I believe we could gain two-thirds or 70% of the overall American people.”

“If you bring Kennedy and Trump into a team, that’s a dynamic duo,” Bannon continued.

“Bannon stated on an additional occasion, this time on his ‘War Room’ podcast, that ‘Bobby Kennedy would make a good alternative for Trump to consider,’ especially if Kari Lake of Arizona campaigns for the U.S. Senate instead.”

Many of Kennedy’s stated goals, according to the former Trump adviser, may connect with a “hard-core MAGA” population.

Kennedy stated that he would work to “end the corrupt merger of corporate and state power that is currently threatening – to impose an entirely novel form of corporate feudalism in our nation; to devalue our children, our purple mountains’ magnificence; to contaminate our children and our fellow Americans with chemicals and drugs; to strip-mine our assets; and ultimately hollow out our middle class and to keep us in an ongoing state of war.”

Kennedy’s campaign website states that he wants to “roll back the secrecy, stop the censorship, end the monitoring, and make the government transparent”; put an end to foreign wars, bring home troops, and invest the freed-up resources to revitalizing America”; and “end censorship as well as surveillance, decrease incarceration, and respect the rights and the dignity of all citizens.”
