Ford Harms National Security With New Car Changes

This week, Ford Motor Company received criticism for pushing forward with a plan to work with a Chinese business to produce batteries in the state of Michigan for the automaker’s electric vehicles.

In accordance to a report published by The New York Times, the revelation comes after the faltering car brand lost billions of dollars this past year while under the leadership of CEO Jim Farley, in part due to inadequate investments and subpar vehicle quality that has resulted in costly recalls.

Following Republican Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin’s withdrawal of his state from a plan to entice the manufacturer primarily because of its relationship with the Chinese firm, Ford has an agreement with Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. of China.

In an interview last month, very successful businessman Youngkin remarked, “I look forward to launching a wonderful firm there. It won’t be one that takes advantage of its ties with the Chinese Communist Party in a way similar to a Trojan horse.”

The $3.5 billion battery facility that Ford intends to build in partnership with Contemporary Amperex Technology is anticipated to start operations in 2026 and employ a few thousand employees. By using less expensive materials to create batteries, the corporation will attempt to cut costs.

Due of the corporation’s ties to communist China, the disclosure led to condemnation and threats of congressional investigations into the company.

Political strategist Arthur Schwartz tweeted, “Woke corporations that lecture Americans about the equality agenda are always, without fail, in connection with the Chinese communists. With a Chinese partner, @Ford will proceed with a $3.5 billion EV battery project.”

“The closer Ford gets to the Chinese communists, the closer we are going to be looking at their company,” a source close to the House Republican leadership told The Daily Wire.

The insider said, “We’re rapidly nearing the point where Ford’s commercial tactics are turning into a national security problem.”

Republican politicians in Michigan should be ready to reject Ford tax incentives because of the detrimental effects that doing business with communist China would have on the state, according to a Michigan Republican strategist.

The strategist said that “Ford was asking Michigan for tax concessions worth over $1 billion. The Chinese Communist Party will gain $1 billion directly from this. Republicans in Michigan’s legislature ought to be aware that this is a topic that will garner attention on a national level.”

The information was released following the downing of a Chinese spy balloon on Feb. 4 off the coast of South Carolina. The balloon had traveled across the country, passing by critical military sites along the way.

Due to China’s capacity to utilize services like TikTok to snoop on Americans and influence public opinion, even leading Democrats like Senator Micheal Bennett (D-CO) are calling for their prohibition because of the threat that communist China poses to the U.S. Due to the significant threat the Chinese tech firm Huawei poses to national security, the United States has already taken action against it and will continue to do so.
