Is it too much to ask for the Republican Party to remain united in the fight against Democrats and insidious leftists as they invade our entire culture, usurp our freedoms, and strain our economy?
Or maybe Republicans are merely leftists with another name?
Seems to be the case with some GOP lawmakers who insist on handing Democrats win after win.
Sen. Susan Collins of Maine is officially the first Republican to come out in support of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, Biden’s far-far-left nominee for the Supreme Court.
Collins’ affirmative vote all but ensures Jackson’s now-bipartisan confirmation, despite the judge’s sordid history of going soft on child pornographers.
Lest we forget, Sen. Collins voted against Justice Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation — the only judge she’s voted against since entering the Senate almost 25 years ago.
Collins previously supported Judge Jackson’s nomination to the DC Circuit Court of Appeals. In a statement first shared with The New York Times, Collins said she does not expect to agree with every ruling Jackson makes, but that ideology should not be a barrier to supporting a Supreme Court nominee.

Collins went on to criticize the confirmation process, joining several other senators who have already done so. Republican Nebraska Sen. Ben Sasse accused his colleagues of “jackassery” spurred on by their desire to perform for cameras during the hearings. He also called the process “broken” in his statement announcing he would not support Jackson. Democratic West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin criticized Republicans for trying to “tear [Jackson] down” during the hearings instead of examining her record.
Certainly, these so-called Republicans have no clue that we are no longer involved in petty battles about decorum. This is a fight against good and evil, with one side literally coming after our children.
We’re out of time for niceties and decorum.
Collins referenced the 98-0 confirmation vote for Antonin Scalia and the 96-3 confirmation for Ruth Bader Ginsburg, adding that she would continue her approach to nominations.
Jackson’s nomination will be considered on April 4 by the Senate Judiciary Committee and will reach the floor of the upper chamber soon after. Several Republicans, including Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, have already announced that they will not support Jackson, while every Democrat is expected to vote in favor of her nomination.
