Democrat Senator Elizabeth Warren (MA) got heaped on in a series of tweets from billionaire Elon Musk after she suggested without a shred of evidence that Musk doesn’t pay his fair share of taxes and exploits a “rigged tax code” to do so.
Warren tweeted TIME magazine’s issue which announces Musk as their “Person of the Year.” The tweet was accompanied by a scathing comment that the “rigged tax code” should be changed such that Musk would “pay taxes and stop freeloading off everyone else.”
Musk fired back at Warren with previous articles that exposed the Senator’s fraudulent claims to be Native American. He added that she was behaving like a frustrated mother “randomly yell[ing] at everyone for no reason,” and dubbed her “Senator Karen.”
Some hours later, Musk picked up the fight against Warren again by pointing out that he actually had paid more taxes than “any American in history” just this year alone. He admonished the government to not “spend it all at once… oh wait you did already.”
Warren’s attacks against Musk followed the billionaire’s criticism of Biden and the Democrats $1.75 trillion Build Back Better Act which was rammed through the House of Representatives without any Republican support. The legislation will dramatically expand on social spending, entitlements, and climate change programs.
Musk, speaking at the CEO Council Summit hosted by the Wall Street Journal, recommended against the legislation. He warned that the bill would burden the already cumbersome national debt by 24%, and pointed out that the public was being kept unaware of “a lot of accounting trickery” within the bill that disguises the true cost of the legislation.
Musk slammed big government for robbing capital from those who are good at capital allocation and giving it to those who are very bad at the same task. He also called the U.S. government the “biggest corporation, with the monopoly on violence.”
