Twitter CEO Elon Musk responded over the weekend to former President Donald Trump’s suggestion that parts of the United States Constitution be repealed in response to the release of the first edition of “The Twitter Files” late last week.
Musk shared internal business files with journalist Matt Taibbi about the firm’s censorship of the Hunter Biden laptop narrative during the presidential election in 2020 revealing that top executives were in regular communication with Dems. and censored information that Democrats wanted deleted from the platform.
The former president reacted with a series of social media messages, one of which sparked considerable criticism from across the political spectrum.
“So, with the revelation of massive & widespread fraud & deceit in close collaboration with Big Tech Firms, the DNC, & the Dem. Party, do you toss out the Presidential Election Outcome of 2020 and announce the Sole legitimate winner, or do you have a New Vote?” Trump penned a letter.
“A Massive Fraud of this size allows for the repeal of all rules, restrictions, and articles, as well as those found in the Constitution,” Trump proclaimed. “Our magnificent ‘Founders’ didnt want and wouldn’t tolerate fraudulent and false elections!”
Musk reacted to Trump’s tweet on Twitter, saying, “The Constitution is larger than any President. The end of the story.”
Musk’s tweet was in response to a story in which the White House called for Trump’s remarks to be “universally denounced.”
Musk indicated earlier in the year that it was time for America to choose a new president in 2024.
“I don’t detest the man, but it is really time for Trump to hang up his hat and sail away,” Musk wrote on Twitter. “Democrats should also stop the attack – don’t make it such that Trump’s only option is to reclaim the presidency.”
When asked about a Trump-DeSantis campaign in 2024, Musk said, “Trump would be 82 at the conclusion of his term, making him too old to be chief executive of almost anything, much less the United States of America.”
“If DeSantis campaigns against Biden in 2024, he will win easily – he won’t even have to campaign,” Musk added.
“Do we really want every day to be like a bull in a china shop?” Musk stated. “I also believe that the maximum legal age for beginning a Presidential term ought to be 69.”
Despite his dislike for the previous president, Musk restored his Twitter account late last month.
