Donald Trump Wins Another 2024 Survey, This Time Old Joe Is Scared

According to the most recent Messenger/Harris survey, former President Trump has gained ground on current President Biden in a head-to-head comparison.

According to the HarrisX survey, Trump has a four-point advantage against Biden, who is supported by 46% compared to the 80-year-old’s 42%. 12% more people are unsure.

88% of Republicans back Trump, compared to 84% of Democrats who back Biden, showing that Trump has a somewhat larger base of supporters than Biden.

Additionally, the Republican front-runner has an 8-point lead over Biden among independents (42% to 34% respectively). However, nearly a quarter, or 24%, claimed they were undecided about who they would support.

The survey has a +/- 3.2 percent margin of error and was conducted between July 21–24, 2023, among 922 registered voters.

This poll is being released at the same time as one from Monmouth University, which revealed that 45% of Republican voters believe that Trump is “definitely” the best candidate to unseat Biden in 2024. Another 24% of respondents agreed, saying he’s likely the strongest candidate. Comparatively, 22% believe that DeSantis would fare better against Biden than Trump would.

According to Monmouth, “just 33% of Republicans believe that a different Republican would be a stronger candidate than Trump (13%) or likely (18%).”

A July poll from Harvard/Harris also found that “most registered voters, along with one quarter of Democrats, express doubts regarding Biden’s mental fitness.”
