During an address in Dubuque, Iowa, this week, former President Trump pledged to implement “the largest domestic deporting operation in the history of the United States,” following Eisenhower’s lead.
Trump talked about protecting the border and stopping people from coming into the country illegally.
“Ending the disaster on our southern border that is destroying our country is one of the biggest and most important parts of this campaign,” Trump said in his written comments.
“While I was in charge, we had the safest border in U.S. history. We now have the most disastrous border in the world’s history,” they say, calling the present immigration situation an “invasion.” With that, Trump will show that he truly is the “only contender in this race who is going to stop it cold on the very first day.”
In his speech, Trump boasts that he has done a lot more to secure the border throughout his first term in office than “any other president in history,” and says that “a vote for President Trump guarantees Joe Biden’s horror show at the southern border comes to an end at high noon on the 2025 Inauguration Day.”
“As soon as I’m sworn in as president, I’ll end every open-borders policy implemented by the Biden administration,” Trump says. “Following the Eisenhower approach, we’ll run the biggest deportation operation in U.S. history.”
Trump has been influenced by “Operation Wetback” by former President Dwight Eisenhower for a long time now, even before the GOP nominated him for president in the year 2016.
“He was popular. I liked Ike. That’s what they say. Ike is cool. They moved 1.5 million illegal aliens out of the country and just across the border, but they came back. They were moved again, this time across the border. They returned. Then they moved them very far south.” Trump stated in November 2015, “They never came back.”
“Since Biden took office in January 2021, there have been 2.3 million more illegal immigrants in the United States,” according to a June analysis released by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), which Breitbart News reported. “This represents an increase of 1.3 million illegal immigrants since this exact time a year ago.”
The study said that the total net cost to American taxpayers would be at least $163 billion per year.
