Republican Governor of Florida Ron DeSantis is brilliant at exacting political revenge against corporations and other influential entities who spew woke talking points that do nothing besides creating division amongst average Americans.
DeSantis knows progressive policies, whether they be anti-gun, pro-abortion, forced vaccines, gender ideology, etc are tremendously detrimental to the health of our nation, and he’ll do anything in his power to stop the spread of insanity in Florida.
On Thursday, the America First Governor vetoed a funding bill earmarked for a spring training facility for the Tampa Bay Rays.
DeSantis cited the need to protect the state “against what very well may be a Biden-induced recession” at the signing ceremony. The facility in question, in Pasco County, would have cost $35 million.
The veto comes after the Rays did what most pro-sports teams are doing nowadays — get involved in politics.
The MLB team made a social media post in support of gun control legislation following a series of mass shootings, most recently in Uvalde, Texas.

The team also donated $50,000 to a far-left gun violence prevention organization called Everytown for Gun Safety and announced a partnership with the organization to “amplify facts about gun violence in America.”
Also included in the veto list were $20 million for a pair of state-owned jets and $75 million for an environmental and oceanographic research and training facility at the University of South Florida’s St. Petersburg campus.
DeSantis is vying for his second term as governor in the 2022 election, but he is widely talked about as a top-tier contender for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination should he choose to run.
Every organization – professional sports, Hollywood, corporations, schools, etc – has grown exceedingly politicized in recent years. Liberals have invaded the upper echelons of these institutions only to sow incredibly divisive policies that cause paranoia, chaos, and hatred amongst average American citizens.
Specifically, pro-sports, whose entire function is to entertain, has veered significantly to the left in recent years, constantly pushing social justice messages to their audiences who could probably care less and are just interested in watching the game.
Sometimes it’s okay to just exist as a sports team, or an actor, or a CEO without knocking Americans over the head with radical leftism. Let us enjoy the simple pleasures in life without the added political messaging.
