Billionaire Bashes Woke — Explains Everything Wrong With The Left

Billionaire, entrepreneur and inventor Elon Musk recently sat down for a lengthy interview with the boys from Babylon Bee, resulting in an expectedly funny yet insightful interview during which Musk gave several thoughtful, compelling answers to their questions.

The group began by laughing about several of the Bee’s most classic headlines, with Musk noting that it is “actually true that Gavin Newsom is U-Haul salesman of the year.” However, Musk suddenly became pensive, reflecting on what’s happened to his former home state in recent years: “California used to be the land of opportunity,” he said, but added that today it has been ruined by “regulation, over-litigation, and scorn.”

Moving on from discussing California’s smoldering demise, the discussion turned to mainstream comedy’s total collapse, which Musk says is a complete unwillingness to punch left, even when it’s well warranted. He said that it is the main reason why he’s a fan of the Babylon Bee, because other satire sites such as The Onion started to uphold liberal narratives rather than stick to telling jokes. “It used to be much more even handed,” said Musk, adding that they seemingly “just got the woke mind virus.” Musk also criticized Saturday Night Live, which he guest-hosted in May despite the public protests of several cast members

Musk noted that most SNL episodes have devolved into “a kind of a moral lecture… why we’re bad human beings,” rather than sticking to comedy. Musk thinks that the issue is one of authenticity, as he put it: β€œIs the comedy getting at an essential truth or is there a propaganda element?”

Musk addressed the fact that SNL and The Onion have gone from central to far left as “the biggest threat to modern civilization,” which is wokeness. He said that “Wokeness.. wants to make comedy illegal.” He slammed leftist critics for cancelling Dave Chapelle, calling the move “crazy.” Musk said that “wokeness is divisive exclusionary and hateful it basically gives mean people a shield to be mean and cruel, armored in false virtue.”
