Biden Now Days Away From Banning Guns

In reaction to the Club Q massacre in Colorado Springs, Colorado, President Joe Biden advocated for a “assault weapons” prohibition.

According to Breitbart News, the 911 reports regarding the gunfire were made shortly before midnight Saturday, and KOAA stated that the situation concluded when the perpetrator was detained and disarmed by others.

According to CNN, the man used “a long rifle,” one of two firearms confiscated at the site by police.

“While no motivation in this attack is yet evident, we know that the LGBTQI+ community has been subjected to horrendous hate attacks in recent years,” Biden said in a statement. “Gun violence continues to have a catastrophic and disproportionate effect on our nation’s LGBTQI+ populations, and threats of violence are on the rise.”

Later in the statement, Biden recognized that the suspect used a “long rifle” in the incident on Saturday night and then argued for gun control:

“When will we say enough is enough? We must confront the public health crisis of gun violence in all of its manifestations. In addition to other historic initiatives, I signed the most substantial gun safety law in over three decades earlier this year. But we must go beyond. To keep weapons of war off American streets, we need to establish an assault weapons ban.”

Following the Nov. 13, 2022 handgun incident at the University of Virginia, the Biden White House pushed for an “assault weapons” prohibition, according to Breitbart News. Around 10:30 p.m., a handgun attack near UVA’s Culbreth Garage injured two individuals and killed three.

The three victims were all members of the University of Virginia football team, and the shooter was also a former player.
