More than four years have passed since the events of January 6, 2021, and yet Attorney General Merrick Garland continues to cling to the narrative that it was a “deadly insurrection,” despite mounting disputes over the accuracy of that claim. In a recent statement, Garland painted a grim picture of the day, asserting, “Police officers were brutally assaulted while bravely defending the United States Capitol. They were punched, tackled, tased, and attacked with chemical agents that burned their eyes and skin.”
Garland went further, claiming to be thinking of “the officers who still bear the scars of that day, as well as the loved ones of the five officers who lost their lives in the line of duty, as a result of what happened to them on January 6, 2021.” This narrative has been repeated by Democrats like Congressman Jake Auchincloss, who accused Donald Trump of having “aided and abetted their murder.”
However, these statements don’t stand up to scrutiny. Pat Gray of Pat Gray Unleashed summed it up aptly: “It is so irresponsible and so despicable that they continue this lie four years later.” Gray pointed out the glaring issue: no officers lost their lives on January 6 as a result of the events at the Capitol. “I don’t remember any officer losing their life on January 6. Why? Because it didn’t happen,” he said.
While it is true that officers tragically died in the days and weeks following January 6, their deaths were unrelated to the events of that day. Yet, Democrats have shamelessly used this misleading narrative to push their agenda, weaponizing January 6 as a political cudgel. Gray’s frustration is shared by many who wonder why not one journalist has stood up to question this fabrication. “Tell me, Congressman, who lost their life on January 6 as a result of that mob? Because the answer is no one.”
This persistent distortion of the truth by the left serves their purpose of vilifying conservatives and justifying overreach in the name of “democracy.” Meanwhile, Democrats have little to say about the chaos, violence, and destruction that swept through American cities in 2020 during riots that were excused as “mostly peaceful protests.” The double standard is glaring.
January 6 has become a convenient excuse for Democrats to smear their political opponents and dodge real issues. Instead of addressing skyrocketing crime, a porous southern border, or economic challenges, they remain fixated on peddling a distorted narrative. Conservatives stand for truth, accountability, and real solutions—not endless fearmongering and propaganda.
