Thanks to newly appointed Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, Americans now have a glimpse into the deeply troubling manner in which Biden’s administration weaponized our law enforcement agencies against everyday citizens. Gabbard recently declassified two profoundly disturbing documents, reports that explicitly outline the Biden-era FBI and DHS’s view of anti-mandate Americans as threats to national security.
As Gabbard herself stated clearly via her X account: “As Director of National Intelligence, I promised to root out and expose the politicization of intelligence. I recently declassified two reports that show how the Biden administration labeled Americans who disagreed with their policies as potential ‘domestic violent extremists,’ which was often followed by FBI investigations, surveillance, and government-directed social media censorship.”
These revelations aren’t hyperbole or conspiracy theory. Journalist Michael Shellenberger, who first dug into the documents, noted plainly, “The idea that the Biden administration viewed millions of Americans as a terrorist threat sounds like a conspiracy theory, but it’s not.” Shellenberger’s analysis underscores the grim reality: the Biden-led government actively targeted ordinary, law-abiding citizens who simply opposed draconian COVID-19 mandates.
The first document from the National Counterterrorism Center chillingly asserts that “domestic violent extremists” could mobilize violence in response to COVID mandates. It states explicitly, “Since the advent of COVID-19 vaccines, DVEs have expanded their potential target set to include federal government officials, healthcare workers, or others who enforce vaccination mandates.” This wasn’t just a harmless memo—this was the Biden administration setting the stage for surveilling, censoring, and potentially prosecuting anyone who dared question their authoritarian policies.
The second document, produced jointly by the NCTC, DHS, and FBI, portrayed opposition to COVID mandates as part of a larger, sinister web of anti-government extremism. It claimed, “Adherents of several DVE ideologies continued to converge around anger at government responses to the COVID-19 pandemic,” and predicted further extremist threats stemming from vaccine mandates targeting school-age children. Essentially, parents concerned for their children’s health and education were being quietly branded as enemies of the state.
Let’s not forget the Biden administration’s broader pattern of weaponizing federal agencies against its political opponents. From targeting devout Catholics as “extremists” to investigating parents who dare stand up against left-wing indoctrination in schools, Biden’s team repeatedly used the powers of government to intimidate and silence political dissent. This is a direct assault on our First Amendment rights and the very fabric of American liberty.
The irony, of course, is that Biden’s heavy-handed COVID policies were themselves disastrous—lockdowns that decimated small businesses, mask mandates that proved ineffective, vaccine mandates that promised immunity but delivered something far less certain, and school closures that irreparably harmed our children’s education.
