J.K. Rowling, famed author of the “Harry Potter” book series ruffled Leftists feathers once again after she publicly ridiculed the Scottish police for permitting rapists to identify themselves as female.
Rowling tartly commented on an article by the Times of London last weekend which pointed out the “Absurdity of police logging rapists as women.”
Rowling referenced George Orwell’s newspeak, saying “War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery. Ignorance is Strength. The Penised Individual Who Raped You Is a Woman.”
The Times reported that Scotland police were logging rapes as being perpetrated by women if the offending individual insists, despite whether or not they have legally changed their gender. The report adds that the police have come under intense criticism for the policy which allows people with male genitalia to parade as women.
Kenny MacAskill, a former Justice Secretary from Holyrood described the situation as “absurd.”
The Scottish Sun reported over the weekend that Assistant Chief Constable Gary Ritchie explained how the country would respond to new gender self-identification laws that are being enacted throughout the country. He said that any individual could describe themselves as any gender without need of a “gender recognition certificate” when they are booked for rape.
MacAskill said that he had “seen some legal absurdities” in his 28 years of working within the legal system, but claims that this latest move by the police department “tops it all.” He added that the mislabeling of gender is “physically impossible… [it’s] about dogma overriding common sense.”
The Daily Mail explains that Scotland’s “Gender Recognition Act” completely removed all medical relevancy from the gender recognition certification process in order to shorten the time required for people to become legally recognized as a different gender. The Scottish Greens and SNP requires that they enact the law by the middle of 2022 at a minimum.
Rowling’s recent comment is in line with previous remarks about gender that she made last year when she mocked the phrase “people who menstruate.” Her recognition of common sense genders got her labeled by the Left as “transphobic” at that time, and its certain that she’ll be piled on for this as well.
