A recently leaked congressional transcript reveals a former FBI supervisory special agent (SSA) verified that the 2020 transitional team for President Biden received information about its intention to question Hunter Biden.
The former FBI agent, who spent 20 years with the agency before leaving in June 2022, supported IRS Supervisory Special Agent Gary Shapley’s testimony indicating that the Biden transition team as well as the Secret Service were informed about the scheduled interview of Hunter Biden through the U.S. Attorney for Delaware David Weiss’ probe.
Shapley’s testimony was first supported by the former FBI agent in July. The transcript containing the FBI agent’s testimony was made public by the House Oversight Panel this week.
Early in December 2019, the former FBI agent along with Shapley received instructions not to approach Hunter Biden but rather to wait for the interview invitation. They didn’t receive a call for the interview; instead, they received a call from Hunter Biden’s lawyer.
“Former FBI agent confirms IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley’s statement that Secret Service HQ, as well as the Biden transition team, were informed. Hunter Biden’s transitional team was informed the night before Shapley alongside the FBI agent were scheduled to question him,” according to a statement from House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY).
“They were advised to wait on Hunter Biden’s phone call instead of trying to approach him. They did not get to interview Hunter Biden, and that call never took place,” Comer added. “The Justice Department’s improper behavior in the Biden criminal probe that took place under U.S. Attorney Weiss’ supervision is evidenced, among other things, by the transition team’s termination and the inability to question Hunter Biden as scheduled.”
The former FBI agent testified before Congress claiming that the Secret Service blocked him and his team from getting close to Hunter Biden’s location as a result of the tipoff given to the Biden transition team.
Just a few days prior to the alleged event, Hunter Biden was protected by the Secret Service.
The testimony’s congressional transcript is as follows:
“Obviously, we had been on the West Coast, according to the FBI SSA. There were more interviews conducted around the nation, including on the East Coast, which was three hours ahead. Thus, we awoke early. I was connected with the IRS’s second supervisor. The plan, as explained to us, consisted of the fact that my information was going to be provided to the Secret Service, to whom I do not know exactly, and, you know, my full name, my connections, my cellphone number, for example, along with the notification stating that we were interested in talking to Hunter Biden; and that I wasn’t supposed to go close to the house. This was told to me by my assistant special agent in charge as we were getting together or while we were getting together on that morning.”
