In yet another outrageous attack on our nation’s sovereignty and security, Judge James Boasberg—an Obama-appointed liberal activist masquerading as a fair arbiter of the law—ruled that nearly all 140 Venezuelan gang members recently deported to El Salvador under President Trump’s robust immigration enforcement were deported illegally. This reckless decision is not only absurd; it is dangerous and anti-American.
Judge Boasberg’s ruling hinges on technicalities and bureaucratic red tape rather than common sense or national security. He argues the Trump administration violated the Alien Enemies Act by deporting these violent Venezuelan gang members to El Salvador, a country which, supposedly, has no direct connection to their criminal activities. In Boasberg’s myopic view, Venezuela, not El Salvador, should have been their destination.
But let’s step back and look at reality. These gang members, vicious criminals who entered our nation illegally, terrorized American communities. President Trump did exactly what the American people elected him to do: enforce the law, secure the border, and protect American lives. The President’s tough-on-crime, America First immigration policies have delivered tangible security improvements—gang members deported, border crossings dramatically reduced, and American communities made safer.
Yet, Boasberg and his liberal allies on the bench choose to prioritize the rights of foreign criminals over the safety of American citizens. By ruling that these deportations were unlawful, Boasberg is essentially inviting chaos back into our neighborhoods. How many more innocent Americans must suffer at the hands of dangerous criminals before activist judges understand the real-world consequences of their radical decisions?
This decision is even more troubling given the significant progress President Trump has made in securing our borders and restoring the rule of law. Under Biden and his Democrat cohorts, we witnessed an unprecedented crisis at our southern border, with record-breaking illegal immigration, human trafficking, and crime spilling into our towns and cities. But President Trump stepped up, taking decisive action to close these loopholes and deport dangerous criminals swiftly.
The President’s administration has made clear that deporting these Venezuelan gang members to El Salvador was a coordinated effort with Salvadoran authorities, who agreed to take them as part of broader regional efforts to combat gang violence. El Salvador has been a key partner in the fight against violent gangs like MS-13. Deporting these criminals there ensures they face justice swiftly and prevents them from returning to our shores.
But Judge Boasberg apparently believes he knows better than our elected officials and law enforcement professionals. His ruling is a slap in the face to the brave men and women of ICE and Border Patrol, who risk their lives every day to keep us safe. It is a direct insult to every American family harmed by illegal immigration and gang violence.
Senator Ted Cruz rightly condemned Boasberg’s ruling, stating unequivocally, “This decision is an egregious example of judicial activism endangering American lives. President Trump’s administration acted lawfully, decisively, and in the best interest of American citizens. We must not allow activist judges to undermine our national security.”
It’s past time for Americans to stand up against judicial overreach and demand accountability from judges who believe their courtroom is a political playground. Our nation’s security is too important to let activist judges roll the dice with our safety.
President Trump has promised to appeal this radical decision immediately, and patriotic Americans across the country must rally behind him. The safety and sovereignty of our nation depend on it. We cannot allow out-of-touch judges like Boasberg to jeopardize the progress we have made in securing our borders and protecting American citizens.
This battle is about more than legal technicalities—it’s about whether we have the courage as a nation to defend our borders, our laws, and our people. President Trump has shown time and again that he has that courage. It’s time the rest of Washington—and the judicial branch in particular—followed his lead.
