There are certain decades in the U.S. when politics weren’t necessarily the biggest priority for most Americans. The country certainly wasn’t as divided and citizens generally paid less attention to nor participated in petty partisan squabbles.
Since then, the U.S. has experienced a collective malaise over the office of the President, a once-respected position in society, as the political gap widens and tensions grow.
Side note: Mass division along political lines is a tactic used by the left to sow discord across the nation in an effort to ripen the U.S. for a socialist revolution.
It seems, however, that Joe Biden’s presidency will be the nail in the coffin that finally turns Americans off to politics for good. A series of corruption scandals combined with disastrous policies both domestic and foreign have inched the U.S. farther to the left than ever before. Simultaneous to America’s leftward shift is a noticeable drop in the quality of life for U.S. citizens.
The public trust in the presidency as an institution has seen the most significant drop under President Joe Biden since Barack Obama, after going up under Donald Trump, according to Gallup.
In the past year alone trust in the office of the president has gone down 15% thanks to the numerous entanglements brought on by the Biden administration.
In the year Biden was sworn into office, the public trust for the presidency stood at around 38 percent. By January 2022 it plummeted to 23%.
The 15% drop matches the drop in public trust under Obama’s first year in office. Obama was sworn into office in January 2009, when the public trust was at 51 percent. It went down from 15% to 36% in 2010.
However, in a major hit to the mainstream narrative, the American people seemed to regain some trust in the presidency during Trump’s first term. The public trust stood at 32% on the day Trump was sworn into office in January 2017. After his first year, it rose to 27% before finally landing at 39% upon leaving office.
Keep in mind, Trump was bombarded by constant attacks from all sides during his first term. Democrats and Republicans alike teamed up to take the Former President down, a D.C.-wide effort that’s ongoing today.
Under Obama:
- 2009: 51%
- 2010: 36%
- 2011: 35%
- 2012: 37%
- 2013: 36%
- 2014: 29%
- 2015: 33%
- 2016: 36%
Under Trump:
- 2017: 32%
- 2018: 37%
- 2019: 38%
- 2020: 39%
Under Biden:
- 2021: 38%
- 2022: 23%
Biden is underwater in 48 states — including the typically dark blue California and his home state of Delaware — while his approval rating is down to the lowest of his presidency, at only 30% approval and 58% disapproval, according to the most recent CIVIQS rolling job-approval average on July 3.
The moderate grandpa everyone believed Sleepy Joe to be actually turned out to be a radical, demented, and utterly manipulated, not to mention corrupt, excuse for a politician.
